Caribou, Maine – Dry weather will finally settle in across northern Maine midweek, but the break will be short-lived as another round of rain targets Caribou by Friday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, showers will ease across the region Wednesday and Thursday, though an isolated shower remains possible Wednesday in the Crown of Maine. Highs on Wednesday will reach 52°F in Caribou, with warmer temps pushing near 54°F in Millinocket and 56°F in Dover-Foxcroft. Roads including Route 1 and I-95 will dry out after days of damp travel, especially in Aroostook County.

Thursday offers even clearer skies with partly sunny conditions expected area-wide and highs reaching the mid to upper 50s. But by Friday, a new system begins to move in, bringing an increasing chance of rain by evening. NWS notes the timing remains uncertain, but residents should prepare for another round of wet roads and the potential for low visibility during commutes.

While this spring stretch includes a brief reprieve from the showers, gusty winds near 28 mph on Tuesday have already highlighted the season’s volatility. Use the next two dry days to check gutters, prep outdoor plans, and stay alert for updates on Friday’s system.

Extended Five-Day Outlook for Caribou:

  • Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, isolated showers in the north, high near 52°F
  • Thursday: Partly sunny, dry, high near 55°F
  • Friday: Mostly sunny early, 40% chance of rain late, high near 57°F
  • Saturday: Mostly cloudy, slight rain chance, high near 52°F
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, isolated showers, high near 57°F
