Maine Spring Weather Alert: Caribou Faces Rain and Wind Gusts Up to 24 MPH From Tuesday Through Thursday

Caribou, Maine – A surge of wet and windy weather will sweep into northern Maine starting Tuesday afternoon, bringing a three-day stretch of rain and potential travel disruptions to Caribou.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin after 2 p.m. Tuesday, with a 70% chance of precipitation by evening. Winds will increase from the south at 9 to 14 mph, with gusts reaching 24 mph across open areas and along Route 1. Rain will become more widespread Tuesday night, continuing into Wednesday and Thursday with an 80% chance each day.

Rainfall totals through Wednesday may approach a quarter inch per day, with wet pavement and reduced visibility expected during morning and evening commutes. Winds may cause minor tree movement and debris, especially in more rural areas east of town.

Conditions will finally begin to improve late Thursday, with drier and cooler weather returning Friday. However, daily rain chances will remain in place through Sunday.
