Maine Sees 25-Degree Swing: Chilly Thursday Night Lows Shift to Summerlike Highs by Friday

Caribou, Maine – Maine residents will wake to a chilly start Friday, with overnight lows dipping into the low 50s across much of the state, but a warm and sunny afternoon will follow as temperatures soar into the upper 70s.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, Thursday night lows will drop to 51°F in Estcourt and St. Pamphile, with Bangor bottoming out around 63°F. Temperatures will rebound quickly Friday, with highs reaching 79°F in Fort Kent, Caribou, Houlton, Patten, and Millinocket.

Ellsworth and Bar Harbor will see cooler coastal highs near 67°F, while inland areas like Dover-Foxcroft, Lincoln, and Presque Isle approach 78°F. St. Zacharie, Greenville, and Clayton Lake will peak between 74°F and 77°F under mostly sunny skies.

Though no alerts are in effect, residents are advised to dress in layers and stay hydrated as temperatures swing more than 25 degrees in some regions. Farmers and outdoor workers should take advantage of the dry, warm conditions while they last.

Warm weather is expected to persist into the weekend, with updated forecasts available Friday evening.
