Maine – Mild weather and a midweek warmup are on the way for Maine, with Election Day bringing clouds and scattered showers across the northern region. Rain will gradually taper off early Tuesday, offering residents in southern areas some sunny breaks later in the day. Temperatures are set to remain mild through the evening, making it an ideal day to visit the polls.
According to the National Weather Service, today’s high temperatures will range in the mid-50s across most of Maine, climbing slightly by evening. Northern communities could see a few more isolated showers before skies clear by tonight, when lows will settle in the low 50s statewide.
Wednesday ushers in a warmer, breezy day, with temperatures expected to peak in the mid-60s to near 70 across interior Maine. The National Weather Service warns of potential light showers developing in the northern areas once again, but overall conditions will remain mostly cloudy. Residents should prepare for gusty winds, adding to the mild yet comfortable temperatures.
Looking ahead, Thursday will see a drop in temperatures as cooler air returns to the region. Daytime highs are expected to range from the mid-40s in the north to the mid-50s in the south, with partly sunny skies across the state. By Friday, colder air solidifies across Maine, bringing highs down to the low 40s with clear and dry conditions anticipated for the weekend.
For those with outdoor plans, especially on Wednesday, expect ideal conditions for one last warm day before the weekend cool-down. Voters heading to the polls today are encouraged to bring an umbrella in the north and take advantage of mild temperatures in southern areas.
