Lubbock, TX – Residents in West Texas are advised to prepare for potential light snow and flurries late tonight, particularly west of I-27. Forecasters predict snow accumulation under an inch, but freezing overnight temperatures could create slick roadways by Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Lubbock, increasing clouds are expected after midnight with lows dipping into the upper teens to lower 20s. Flurries may begin in the early morning hours and continue through mid-morning. Drivers should exercise caution, especially along I-27 and rural roads, as icy spots may develop.

Looking ahead, Wednesday’s forecast includes a slight chance of snow flurries before 9 a.m., with temperatures climbing to a high near 38 degrees under partly sunny skies. Winds from the northeast at 5-10 mph will make conditions feel even colder. By Wednesday night, another chance of light snow and sleet will arrive, accompanied by lows near 27 degrees.

Thursday could bring additional snow showers during the morning, with a 20% chance of precipitation. The high will hover near 38 degrees before clearing into a mostly sunny Friday, with temperatures reaching the low 40s. A warming trend is expected for the weekend, with sunny skies and highs near 57 degrees by Saturday.

Plan for potential delays during Wednesday’s morning commute and dress warmly to avoid frostbite. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts as conditions may change overnight.
