Louisville, Kentucky – Dry skies and warmer air are on the way for Louisville after a soggy and unseasonably cool Monday that’s keeping temperatures stuck in the 50s and lower 60s.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will linger through this evening, with high temperatures struggling to climb past 63°F. A shift arrives Tuesday as drier and milder conditions return, pushing highs into the low to mid-70s under a mix of clouds and sunshine.

The reprieve will be short-lived. Another round of scattered showers is expected to move in Wednesday, particularly across central and eastern Kentucky, with temperatures peaking near 75°F. Commuters should be aware of slick roads early in the day, especially in areas that receive heavier bursts of rain.

Residents are encouraged to limit outdoor activity today, charge electronic devices, and keep rain gear handy. While Tuesday offers a break in the wet pattern, umbrellas may be needed again by midweek.

Rain chances may continue into Thursday, and additional advisories are possible. Stay tuned to weather.gov/lmk for updated alerts and timing.
