Shreveport, LA – Strong thunderstorms may sweep through portions of Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma on Sunday, bringing risks of severe weather, including damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Residents are urged to stay weather-aware and plan ahead for rapidly changing conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms are expected to develop in the afternoon and intensify into the evening. The slight risk zone covers northeast Texas, northwest Louisiana, and parts of southern Arkansas, including key areas along the I-20 corridor. Timing and intensity details remain uncertain, but forecasters suggest an 80% chance of showers and scattered thunderstorms in Shreveport by Sunday afternoon.

Friday and Saturday will bring calm conditions, with highs near 61°F and partly sunny skies. However, a shift begins late Saturday night as clouds increase and temperatures rise to a high of 67°F Sunday. Winds could become gusty ahead of the storms, which may impact outdoor plans.

Temperatures will plummet Sunday night, dropping to 28°F, followed by much cooler and sunnier conditions on Monday, with a high near 43°F.

Residents in the affected areas should monitor updates from the National Weather Service and prepare for possible weather alerts. Keep emergency kits ready and avoid travel during storm activity if possible.
