Shreveport, Louisiana – A multi-day stretch of heavy rain and storms could soak roads and neighborhoods across northwest Louisiana through Saturday, with some areas likely to see more than 3 inches of rainfall.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, three separate disturbances will push across the region between Wednesday and the weekend. Each system is expected to bring periods of showers and thunderstorms, with the heaviest totals forecast across Monroe, Ruston, and El Dorado, Arkansas. Flooding could occur in low-lying areas or along waterways, especially if rainfall exceeds 4 inches in localized spots.

Rainfall projections show 2–4 inches common across much of northern Louisiana and southern Arkansas, including Shreveport, Natchitoches, and Minden. Counties along the Texas border such as Panola and Shelby may see 1–2 inches. Officials urge residents to stay off flooded roads, monitor local alerts, and have backup power sources charged in case of outages.

With wet ground expected to persist, runoff may lead to rising creeks and localized flash flooding. More updates and possible flood advisories could follow as the pattern develops.
