Shreveport, LA – Frosty conditions and cooler temperatures are making a return to Shreveport, with lows dipping into the 30s tonight. Residents are urged to take precautions for sensitive plants and prepare for the potential of icy spots on roads during early morning commutes Friday.
According to the National Weather Service, tonight’s temperatures are expected to fall to 37 degrees, with frost forming after 4 a.m. Friday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high near 62, offering a brief reprieve from the chill before another cold front arrives.
Friday night will remain clear with a low of 48 degrees, but gusty winds of up to 20 mph may make it feel cooler. On Saturday, clouds and winds increase as temperatures reach a high of 57 degrees. By Saturday night, temperatures will plunge to 28 degrees, with freezing conditions likely.
Sunday will see highs near 40 degrees under sunny skies, though it will feel brisk. Overnight Sunday into Martin Luther King Jr. Day, lows will drop to 23 degrees before Monday’s high rebounds slightly to 35 degrees with partly sunny skies.
Drivers should remain cautious as frost and potential icy conditions may impact travel Friday morning and again late Saturday. Bring outdoor pets inside during freezing nights and consider covering delicate vegetation.
