Shreveport, LA – A mix of rain and freezing drizzle could create slick spots across northern Louisiana overnight, but a warming trend is coming this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, rain showers will move through the area before 3 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a slight chance of freezing drizzle. Overnight lows will drop to around 30°F, with north winds up to 15 mph and gusts reaching 25 mph. While significant ice accumulation isn’t expected, motorists should be cautious on bridges and overpasses, especially along I-20.

Wednesday will remain mostly cloudy with a high near 39°F, but north winds will keep it feeling colder. By Thursday, sunshine returns, though temperatures stay chilly with highs around 38°F.

The real change comes this weekend, as temperatures climb. Friday will reach 41°F, and by Sunday, highs will soar near 59°F under mostly sunny skies.

Residents should prepare for cold conditions through midweek but can expect relief as the arctic air shifts out by Saturday.
