Shreveport, LA – A strong EF-1 tornado with estimated maximum winds near 105 mph touched down Tuesday afternoon in Southwest Caddo Parish and tracked nearly 13 miles into the southern parts of Shreveport. This tornado, which struck between 3:26 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. on May 6, 2025, left a trail of damage in its path, with a maximum width of approximately 810 yards.
According to a preliminary report from the National Weather Service’s Shreveport office, the tornado caused significant damage in its wake. The storm’s path extended from Southwest Caddo Parish into Shreveport, where localized areas experienced damage to homes, trees, and power lines. Thankfully, no fatalities or serious injuries have been reported.
In the wake of the storm, local authorities are advising residents to remain alert for potential additional storms in the coming days. Clean-up efforts are already underway, and residents are urged to avoid any downed power lines or debris in affected areas.
