Shreveport, LA – More severe weather is expected across northern Louisiana and East Texas on Friday, bringing heavy rain, damaging winds, and the risk of isolated tornadoes. Forecasters warn that areas north of the I-30 corridor could see an additional 2-3 inches of rain, leading to possible flash flooding.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, storms will intensify throughout the day Friday, with the highest threat in the afternoon and evening. A Flood Watch remains in effect, and residents are urged to monitor conditions closely, especially in low-lying areas prone to flooding.
Looking ahead, rain chances decrease slightly over the weekend, but scattered showers and storms remain possible through Sunday. Temperatures will stay mild, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the upper 40s. By early next week, drier conditions are expected, offering some relief after days of wet weather.
Residents should stay weather-aware, have multiple ways to receive warnings, and know where to take shelter if severe weather develops.
