Shreveport, LA – Strong winds and severe thunderstorms are expected across Louisiana today, bringing potential power outages and hazardous driving conditions. Residents should prepare for heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and possible tree damage.

According to the National Weather Service, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM Tuesday for much of northwest Louisiana, south-central Arkansas, and eastern Texas. Wind speeds will range from 15 to 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. Strong thunderstorms are also likely between noon and 3 PM, some of which could be severe.

Motorists traveling on Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 71 should expect reduced visibility and slick roads due to heavy rainfall and widespread haze developing in the afternoon. Wind gusts may make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects and remain indoors during the strongest storms.
