Shreveport, LA – Residents in northern Louisiana should prepare for dangerously cold temperatures tonight as wind chills drop below zero.
According to the National Weather Service, a Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday. Areas across north-central Louisiana, southern Arkansas, and eastern Texas will see wind chills as low as -2°F. Frostbite and hypothermia are serious risks for those exposed to the cold without proper clothing.
Thursday will remain chilly, with highs near 36°F and strong winds making it feel even colder. Conditions will gradually improve into the weekend, with highs reaching the upper 40s by Saturday and near 60°F by Sunday.
Residents are urged to dress warmly, limit outdoor exposure, and check on vulnerable neighbors.
