Los Angeles, CA – Drivers in East Los Angeles may wake up to patchy fog and reduced visibility starting late Sunday and continuing through Wednesday morning, potentially impacting early commutes across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, patchy fog is expected to form after 11 p.m. each night through midweek, especially in low-lying areas and along coastal routes. While days will remain sunny with highs between 69°F and 74°F, overnight lows in the mid-50s could create ideal conditions for fog development.
Visibility could drop below a quarter mile in some neighborhoods, including Boyle Heights, Monterey Park, and East L.A., particularly before 9 a.m. Morning drivers on I-5, I-10, and the 60 Freeway should allow extra time and use low beams in fog-prone stretches. Caltrans advises avoiding sudden stops and maintaining safe distances.
Afternoon skies are expected to clear daily, with light winds from the west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph. No rain is in the forecast, but fog may linger longer near the coast or in sheltered valleys.
Fog advisories may be issued if conditions worsen. The National Weather Service will update forecasts daily.
