Cowfold, West Sussex – A 31-year-old man from London has been arrested following a fatal collision on the A272 Bolney Road early Saturday morning. The incident, involving a grey Mercedes, resulted in the death of a 44-year-old pedestrian from West Chiltington.
Authorities were called to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. Despite the efforts of police, paramedics, and bystanders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been notified and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The London man was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and causing death by careless driving. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
