Green Bay, WI – Light lake effect snow is expected to impact parts of eastern Wisconsin today, with accumulations of up to one inch forecast in Kewaunee and Manitowoc counties. This snow band, concentrated along the lakeshore, could create slippery road conditions, especially on WIS-42.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay, the snow will persist through the morning before tapering off around noon. Drivers in the affected areas are urged to exercise caution, as reduced visibility and snow-covered roads are possible. Minor travel disruptions are anticipated, particularly along lakeshore routes.
Temperatures will remain cold, with highs reaching just 25°F today. Northwest winds of 10-15 mph will create a wind chill in the low teens, adding to the wintry feel. Tonight, conditions will clear, with lows dropping to 12°F and lighter winds at 5-7 mph.
The weather for the rest of the week remains frigid. Tuesday will bring partly sunny skies and a high of 24°F, with similar conditions continuing into Wednesday. By Thursday, temperatures will climb slightly to a high near 23°F under sunny skies, offering some relief from the snow.
Travelers are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and allow extra time for commutes today. Check conditions before heading out and avoid sudden stops on icy roads.
