Springfield, MO – Scattered light showers will move into the Springfield area tonight and continue into early Tuesday morning. While some rain is expected, forecast totals remain low, offering little relief to ongoing drought conditions across southwest Missouri. Most areas will see less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall.
According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, rain chances will increase after midnight, with a 30% chance of showers continuing into Tuesday morning. Winds will remain light, around 10 mph, but could pick up slightly by Tuesday afternoon, bringing gusts of up to 21 mph. Tuesday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies with highs reaching near 84°F, which is unseasonably warm for late October.
Despite the rain, warm and dry conditions will return by Wednesday and continue through the week, with temperatures hovering in the low 80s. This stretch of warm weather is expected to persist into the weekend, with sunny skies forecast for both Thursday and Friday. Residents should remain aware of fire weather concerns as dry conditions remain across the region.
