In addition to the storms, gusty winds will sweep through the region, particularly in the Western Mojave Desert, including Barstow. Winds in this area are expected to range from 40 to 50 mph through Friday morning. Esmeralda and Central Nye counties will also see winds gusting at 35 to 45 mph through the evening.
