Green Bay, WI – Snow is set to blanket north-central Wisconsin through Monday, with travel expected to become increasingly hazardous. Vilas County is under a Winter Weather Advisory from noon today through 6 p.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay, lake-effect snow showers will continue through Monday afternoon, with an additional 2-6 inches of accumulation expected. The heaviest snowfall is forecast late this afternoon and evening, reducing visibility and creating slick conditions on major roadways, including US Highway 45. Motorists are urged to drive with caution and allow extra time for travel.

Monday’s high will hover around 33°F, with brisk northwest winds up to 18 mph. These conditions will contribute to subzero wind chills, particularly overnight into Tuesday, when lows will dip to 19°F. The NWS warns of potential delays and hazardous conditions through midweek.

Looking ahead, the snow will taper off Monday night, with partly cloudy skies prevailing Tuesday. Highs will reach 29°F under light winds. Snow showers are likely Tuesday night, with a 70% chance of accumulation, followed by flurries Wednesday morning. Highs will peak at 35°F midweek before dropping back into the teens at night.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from the NWS and report snow measurements to assist with forecasting. Prepare for delays, limit nonessential travel, and ensure vehicles are equipped with emergency kits.
