Boonville, NY – Northern Oneida County is under a Winter Weather Advisory as lake effect snow intensifies through Friday. Residents should prepare for rapid changes in visibility and hazardous road conditions.

The National Weather Service warns that an additional 2 to 6 inches of snow could accumulate by early Saturday, with localized areas receiving up to 9 inches. The advisory remains in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday, creating potentially treacherous conditions for both the morning and evening commutes.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy snow bands will produce rapidly shifting weather. Visibility could drop drastically within short distances, and roads may become slick and icy. Travelers are advised to slow down and exercise caution on the roads.
