Third Lake, IL – Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 36-year-old man early Sunday following a burglary at a Third Lake gaming café. Deputies responded to a burglar alarm at approximately 1:15 a.m. in the 34500 block of Route 45, where they found a shattered glass door and evidence of a break-in, including blood trails inside the café.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies encountered Gilberto Mojarro-Garcia, who had no permanent address, nearby. He displayed fresh cuts and wore blood-stained clothing. A damaged, stolen cash register was also found in the area, and surveillance footage confirmed Mojarro-Garcia’s involvement.

While detained, Mojarro-Garcia allegedly kicked a deputy and exhibited aggressive behavior at the jail, prompting the use of pepper spray. He faces charges including burglary, aggravated battery to a peace officer, and resisting arrest. He remains in custody pending a court hearing this morning.

Detectives are investigating potential links to additional burglaries in the area.
