Lake Charles, Louisiana – Unseasonably warm and dry conditions will continue across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana through the weekend, with highs climbing into the upper 70s and lower 80s along I-10 and US-90.
Saturday and Sunday will feature mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with afternoon temperatures ranging from 77 to 83 degrees. Light east to southeast winds will keep conditions pleasant for outdoor plans. Overnight lows will dip into the lower to upper 50s, offering mild evenings across communities including Lake Charles, Sulphur, Beaumont, and Lafayette.
The dry stretch is expected to hold through Monday, with highs again pushing near 80 degrees. However, changes begin to develop Tuesday as moisture increases across the region. A slight chance of showers arrives Tuesday, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours, with rain chances increasing further by Wednesday.
By midweek, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms could impact travel along I-10 from Beaumont to Lafayette, as well as US-90 corridors. Rain chances may rise to between 20 and 50 percent Wednesday, signaling a transition to a more active weather pattern.
Looking beyond the five-day outlook, longer-range guidance suggests above-normal precipitation could develop in early to mid-March. This may bring multiple opportunities for rainfall across the Gulf Coast region.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the warm and dry weekend but remain aware of increasing rain chances by midweek. Drivers should monitor forecasts for updated timing as the pattern turns wetter heading into March.
