Paducah, KY – Dangerous winter weather continues to grip western Kentucky as snow, extreme cold, and river flooding impact the region. Travel remains hazardous, with icy roads and wind chills dropping below zero.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will taper off Wednesday morning, but dangerously cold wind chills will persist through Thursday. Overnight lows will reach near -8°F, with northwest winds creating gusts up to 23 mph.

The Ohio River remains above flood stage, affecting Livingston, Pope, Massac, and McCracken counties. Moderate flooding is forecast through February 28, impacting roads and low-lying areas. Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads and prepare for bitter cold conditions.

By Friday, a warming trend will begin, with highs nearing 30°F. The weekend will bring a spring-like break, reaching the upper 50s by Monday.

Drivers should use caution, bundle up against the frigid temperatures, and stay updated on road closures.
