Louisville, Ky. – Parts of southern Kentucky could see isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, while much of the rest of the state remains dry and seasonably warm.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, storms are most likely near Bowling Green, Campbellsville, and Russell Springs, where thunder and localized downpours could briefly disrupt outdoor plans. Highs across the state will range from the mid-70s in Lexington and Danville to near 81°F in Bowling Green.
Louisville, Frankfort, and Elizabethtown will stay mostly sunny today, with highs between 75°F and 78°F. Monday continues the dry trend across the state, with temperatures climbing into the low 80s. By Tuesday, highs could reach 89°F in parts of western and central Kentucky, including Hartford and Louisville.
Drivers in southern counties should watch for slick spots and brief visibility issues this evening. Those in areas expecting storms should avoid flooded roads and secure outdoor items.
The warming trend will continue through midweek, with mostly sunny skies holding statewide. More storm chances could return late in the week as humidity increases.
