Louisville, KY – A warm start to Thanksgiving week will give way to cooler temperatures and rain by midweek, impacting travel and holiday plans. Monday’s high is forecasted to reach 62°F before a strong weather system brings rain and breezy conditions to the region.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will begin Monday afternoon and continue overnight. Gusty winds up to 20 mph may accompany the rain, potentially making driving hazardous on major roads like I-64 and I-65. Commuters should allow extra travel time and prepare for wet road conditions.

Tuesday offers a brief reprieve with mostly sunny skies and a high near 57°F, but colder air returns Tuesday night, dropping lows to 34°F. Rain and gusty winds are likely to return Wednesday afternoon into Thanksgiving Day, with highs near 48°F and sustained winds up to 15 mph. Thanksgiving itself will be damp, with a 60% chance of rain and highs only reaching 47°F.

Travelers should plan accordingly, as roadways may become slick during peak travel times. Outdoor holiday events may also be disrupted, so consider indoor alternatives.

Friday will bring isolated showers and colder temperatures, with highs near 36°F and lows plunging to 21°F overnight. This colder trend is expected to persist into next weekend.

Stay updated on evolving weather patterns by visiting local forecasts regularly. Drivers should keep an emergency kit in their vehicle and check tire pressure before setting out in wet or cold conditions.
