Louisville, Kentucky – Sunshine dominates Kentucky skies today and Thursday as a summer-like stretch brings highs near 89°F and drier air across the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, afternoon temperatures will range from 82 to 87 degrees Wednesday and climb slightly higher on Thursday. Overnight lows will stay mild, dipping only into the upper 60s with patchy fog possible in low-lying areas.

In Louisville, Lexington, and Bowling Green, residents can expect mostly sunny conditions with little to no rain chance through Thursday night. State highways and interstates, including I-64 and I-65, should remain clear for travel, though drivers may encounter reduced visibility in early morning fog. Officials recommend using headlights at dawn and allowing extra time on rural routes.

Outdoor activities, yard work, and early summer sports practices will benefit from the warm, dry spell—though Kentuckians are advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous work during peak afternoon heat. Friday may bring the return of scattered storms, especially in the evening.

More updates are expected Thursday night as storm chances increase heading into the weekend.
