Paducah, Ky. – Western Kentucky will see a quiet start to midweek before another round of scattered thunderstorms rolls in Thursday afternoon and lingers through early Friday.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, light rain may pass through the region overnight into Wednesday morning, but skies are expected to clear by afternoon. Highs Wednesday will range from 76 to 79°F, giving a brief break from the unsettled pattern.
Thunderstorm chances increase Thursday afternoon and evening, with scattered to widespread showers expected to impact much of western Kentucky—including Paducah, Murray, and Owensboro—through early Friday. Rainfall amounts could total between a half-inch to over an inch in some areas, especially north of I-64.
Although no severe weather is expected at this time, localized downpours and brief lightning may disrupt commutes and outdoor plans. Residents should monitor forecasts for updated rainfall totals and any changes to storm timing.
Conditions will begin to clear by late Friday. No weather advisories are currently in effect, but the NWS may issue updates as storm chances develop.
