Central Kentucky residents can expect persistent rain showers through Thursday morning, with the heaviest precipitation occurring early. Showers will gradually taper off this afternoon, giving way to partly cloudy skies by the evening. Those traveling on major roadways, including Interstate 65, should prepare for reduced visibility and slick conditions due to the wet weather.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, temperatures on Thursday will range from the low to mid-60s, with a high near 65°F by midday. Although isolated thunderstorms are possible across the region, particularly in southern Kentucky, significant weather disruptions are not anticipated. Tonight’s lows are expected to dip to around 44°F as skies clear, with light winds shifting northward.

Weekend Sunshine and Clear Skies

As the weekend approaches, residents can look forward to improved conditions. Friday’s forecast promises mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s, a pleasant start to the Veterans Day weekend. Overnight lows on Friday will hover between 38°F and 46°F. On Saturday, temperatures will climb to the mid-60s under mostly sunny skies, making it an ideal day for outdoor events.

However, by Saturday night, there’s a slight chance of showers, particularly after midnight. This pattern is expected to intensify Sunday, with widespread rain and possibly thunderstorms likely to affect the area throughout the day.

Five-Day Forecast

• Friday: Mostly sunny, high of 65°F, low of 44°F.

• Saturday: Partly sunny, high near 65°F, slight chance of evening showers.

• Sunday: Showers likely with potential thunderstorms, high of 67°F.
