Paducah, Ky. – Drivers across western Kentucky could face sudden visibility drops through 8 a.m. Tuesday as patchy dense fog settles over the region, especially along bridges and overpasses.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, fog has developed in isolated areas but may become dense without warning, particularly during the early morning commute. Motorists in counties including McCracken, Graves, Christian, and Daviess should plan for low visibility and allow extra travel time.

The fog, while scattered and transient, poses a risk on elevated surfaces where cooler air can trap moisture more easily. Travel routes such as I-24 near Paducah and U.S. Route 60 around Henderson are especially susceptible to sudden fog pockets.

Officials recommend using headlights on low beam, slowing down, and avoiding abrupt lane changes. If possible, delay non-essential travel until after 8 a.m., when conditions are expected to improve as temperatures rise.

This morning’s fog comes during a stretch of otherwise mild spring weather, but similar visibility issues are not uncommon this time of year. Stay alert for updates in case conditions worsen or advisories expand.

Fog advisories remain in effect through 8 a.m. CDT. Another update will follow if dense fog persists beyond that time.
