Kentucky Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Paducah This Week

Paducah, KY – Residents in Paducah should prepare for a wet and stormy week as multiple rounds of heavy rain and possible thunderstorms move through the region starting Wednesday. Strong wind gusts could reach up to 23 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances will increase to 90% by Wednesday, with steady showers continuing into the night. Thunderstorms are likely, bringing a risk of localized flooding and strong winds. Daytime highs will reach 57°F, with overnight temperatures dropping to 43°F.

By Thursday, the storm system will strengthen, bringing more rain and a chance of thunderstorms. Winds will shift from the southwest, reaching speeds of 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 23 mph. Temperatures will climb to 70°F before cooling into the upper 30s overnight. Rain will taper off slightly Thursday night, but showers could persist into Friday morning.

Friday will see partly sunny skies with a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs will hover around 52°F, and winds will remain light. However, another round of rain is expected Friday night, with showers lingering into Saturday.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday’s forecast calls for a high of 66°F with scattered rain showers and possible thunderstorms in the afternoon. Winds will shift from the southeast at 6 to 11 mph, with gusts up to 22 mph. Rain will continue into Saturday night, accompanied by a risk of thunderstorms.

Sunday brings a slight chance of rain early, with partly sunny conditions by afternoon and a high near 45°F. The region will begin to dry out on Monday, with mostly cloudy skies and highs around 44°F.
