Paducah, Kentucky – Chilly temperatures are on the way for Kentucky this weekend as a strong cold front moves in, dropping Saturday morning lows into the 40s across much of the state and setting the stage for a turbulent weather pattern into next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, scattered storms may linger into this evening before conditions turn quieter for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will see high temperatures between 65 and 72 degrees, but morning lows will dip to the mid-40s—some of the coolest readings in weeks.

Communities from Paducah and Mayfield to Murray should prepare for brisk mornings, with extra layers recommended for early outdoor plans. By Monday, temperatures rebound sharply, reaching into the mid-80s. However, another round of active weather arrives late Tuesday as a cold front pushes through, bringing the threat of strong to severe storms and heavy rain, especially along the I-24 corridor and northwestern counties.

Travelers are advised to monitor road conditions, secure outdoor items, and charge electronic devices ahead of Tuesday’s severe weather risk. Officials recommend reviewing severe weather plans now, as more alerts may be issued in the coming days.

Cooler air will linger through midweek, with temperatures running above normal by late next week. Stay tuned for updates as new advisories are possible.
