Kentucky Weather Alert: Clarks River Flooding Closes Roads Near Paducah Through Tuesday Night

Paducah, KY – Floodwaters along the Clarks River continue to impact McCracken County, closing roads and prompting a weather alert through late Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a Flood Warning remains in effect until 11:54 p.m. Tuesday, with continued moderate flooding expected in southeastern McCracken County. The Clarks River is expected to crest at 48.5 feet late Tuesday or early Wednesday—above the flood stage of 39 feet. Key roads, including portions of U.S. Highway 45 and Oaks Road, remain closed.

State highway officials have warned drivers to avoid water-covered routes. “Turn around, don’t drown” remains vital as most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Residents are urged to check weather.gov/safety/flood for ongoing alerts and safety tips.
