Paducah, Kentucky – Strong spring storms and moderate flooding will grip Paducah and surrounding counties through early Wednesday, prompting weather alerts and urging drivers to stay alert near the Ohio River and I-24.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 a.m. Wednesday, with the Ohio River expected to crest at 45.6 feet late Sunday into early Monday. Water levels will stay above flood stage until at least Tuesday evening, affecting roads and low-lying areas in McCracken, Livingston, and Ballard Counties. Motorists should never drive through flooded areas or around barricades.

Rain and thunderstorms will continue to threaten the region Monday night, with a 90% chance of precipitation and potential wind gusts up to 32 mph. Tuesday will bring a drier, sunny break, but more showers and storms could return late Thursday.

High water continues to impact parts of Crittenden, Massac, Pope, and Pulaski counties along the Ohio River. Emergency managers advise residents near flood-prone areas to prepare for extended water impacts and possible power interruptions.
