Paducah, KY – Strong winds and thunderstorms will sweep across western Kentucky Friday night into Saturday, bringing gusts up to 50 mph and a risk of power outages.

According to the National Weather Service, a Wind Advisory remains in effect from 1 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday for portions of Kentucky, southern Illinois, and western Indiana. South winds of 20 to 30 mph will accompany gusts reaching 50 mph, potentially toppling tree limbs and causing scattered outages. High-profile vehicles should take caution, especially on I-24 and other open roadways.

Friday night will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms, with a strong breeze keeping temperatures in the mid-60s. The chance of precipitation is 80%.

By Saturday morning, thunderstorms will linger until about 1 p.m., followed by occasional showers. The high will reach 73°F, with winds shifting northwest at 10 to 15 mph. Rain chances decrease by the evening.
