Paducah, KY – Heavy spring rainfall has triggered ongoing flood warnings across western Kentucky, with Paducah and surrounding counties at the center of concern. A Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice, as storms continue into Saturday and river levels surge.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, 2 to 5 inches of rainfall is expected across the Quad State region through Saturday night. Some areas may receive even higher amounts, leading to dangerous flash flooding. A Flood Watch remains active until 7 a.m. Sunday, with localized flooding already reported on low-lying roads and near streams, especially along US-60.
Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roads and obey detour signs. “Turn around, don’t drown,” remains the key safety message. With saturated soils and ongoing rain, even minor showers may lead to rapid runoff and water accumulation.
Saturday brings a 100% chance of thunderstorms, some potentially severe, with a high near 70°F. Winds may gust up to 24 mph. Overnight lows will dip to 45°F with more rain expected.
Five-Day Paducah Forecast:
