Paducah, KY – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for 14 counties in western Kentucky until 8 p.m. CDT tonight, with strong thunderstorms expected to bring hazardous conditions to the area.

According to the National Weather Service, the counties under this watch include Caldwell, Calloway, Christian, Daviess, Graves, Henderson, Hopkins, Lyon, Marshall, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, and Webster. Cities such as Benton, Cadiz, Calhoun, Dixon, Eddyville, Elkton, Greenville, Henderson, Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Mayfield, Murray, Owensboro, and Princeton are all impacted.

Severe thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and large hail could pose a risk to travelers and residents in these areas. Strong winds and lightning are also possible. Local authorities recommend staying indoors and avoiding travel unless necessary.
