Cincinnati, Ohio – A stalled low-pressure system is drenching the Ohio Valley with steady rainfall, raising the risk for minor flooding through Tuesday night, especially in river-adjacent communities.

According to the Ohio River Forecast Center, between 0.25 and 1.5 inches of rain is expected across the region by early Wednesday, with the heaviest amounts likely in northeastern Ohio, northern West Virginia, and parts of western Pennsylvania. Dozens of rivers and streams have reached or are approaching “action” stages, with isolated areas already reporting minor flood conditions.

In Ohio, cities like Columbus and Akron may see street flooding near low-lying areas and streams. Along the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers in Pennsylvania, localized flooding is possible through Tuesday. Kentucky residents in Ashland and Covington should also prepare for rising water levels and poor drainage in urban zones.

Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roadways and check local alerts before traveling. Residents in flood-prone areas should clear storm drains, secure valuables, and prepare for possible power disruptions.

Rainfall will taper off by Wednesday morning, but rivers could remain elevated into midweek. Additional advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
