Paducah, KY – Morning clouds linger over the Ohio River Valley, softening a cool 48°F dawn that feels steady and calm after a breezy stretch. The air is mild for late October — crisp but comfortable — and the region is in for a few bright, quiet days before a gradual shift toward colder weather takes hold next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, today will be mostly sunny with highs around 61°F and a northwest wind up to 15 mph, easing later in the afternoon. Lows fall into the upper 30s, setting up clear, calm conditions through Friday. Saturday brings a slight 20–30% chance of light showers, mainly north of I-24, with temperatures holding near 59°F.

Sunday and Monday turn sunnier again, but forecasters are watching a colder air mass expected to drop south from the Plains after November 8. This pattern could bring Kentucky’s first significant frost and possibly a hard freeze to outlying areas between November 10 and 15. While snow chances stay low this far south, temperatures could dip into the upper 20s — enough to end any remaining fall growing season.

For now, it’s a mild, pleasant stretch — ideal for outdoor cleanup or early decorating — but signs point toward a colder, early-November flip for the Ohio Valley.
