Kentucky – Warm spring air is already pushing temperatures toward summer-like levels, but storms are lining up to move in later today across the Paducah region.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, highs will reach near 89°F with south to southwest winds gusting up to 28 mph. Dry, sunny conditions dominate early, but instability increases into the evening, especially across western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southwest Indiana.

Storm development is expected to ramp up late tonight, with the strongest activity likely between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. The Evansville Tri-State area faces the greatest risk, where a few storms could produce damaging winds and large hail.

Communities including Paducah, Metropolis, and Marion should prepare for sudden downpours and brief strong gusts. Drivers along I-24, I-69, and U.S. 60 may encounter reduced visibility and water-covered roads. Plan extra time if traveling late tonight.

Behind the storms, cooler air settles in Monday with highs near 61°F under mostly sunny skies. The quick drop from near 90°F to the low 60s will feel noticeably brisk.

A steady warm-up resumes Tuesday with highs near 69°F and sunshine returning. By Wednesday, temperatures climb back into the upper 70s with another chance of showers and storms developing late.

Thursday brings another warm push near 85°F with additional storm chances returning into the night.

This active spring setup will keep conditions changing quickly across the region. Stay alert for evening storm updates. Are you seeing clouds building where you are right now?
