According to the US National Weather Service Louisville, temperatures today will range from 94-98° with a heat index of 97-102°. Saturday’s forecast predicts temperatures of 93-97° and a heat index of 96-101°. By Sunday, scattered storms are expected, bringing slight relief with temperatures between 89-93° and a heat index of 92-98°.
The extreme heat is expected to persist into the beginning of next week, with a significant rise in the heat index. Parts of the state could see the heat index climb above 107°, posing a heightened risk of heat-related illnesses.
