Paducah, KY – A flood warning remains in effect for Paducah and surrounding areas as the Ohio River continues to rise. Residents should prepare for high water near riverbanks, with minor flooding forecast until Friday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, the Ohio River was at 42.6 feet as of Tuesday evening, with moderate flooding expected at 43 feet. The river is projected to drop below flood stage late Friday into early Saturday. Officials urge caution, particularly in flood-prone areas, and warn motorists not to drive through flooded roadways.

Thursday will bring sunny skies and a high near 60°F, with west-northwest winds at 5-11 mph. Dry conditions will persist through the weekend, offering some relief. Friday’s high will reach 64°F before temperatures cool to 51°F on Saturday. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-20s by Saturday night.

Looking ahead, rain chances return Monday, with showers and thunderstorms likely by Tuesday. The NWS advises staying informed on changing conditions, especially near the Ohio River.
