Louisville, KY – A reinforcing cold front will sweep through Kentucky on Tuesday, bringing frigid temperatures and a light dusting of snow. Overnight lows are expected to drop to single digits, with wind chills potentially falling below zero by early Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service in Louisville reports that temperatures during the day on Tuesday will range between 25 and 36 degrees. By Tuesday evening, the cold front will push lows to between 9 and 18 degrees across much of the state. Light snow may develop late Tuesday night, with minimal accumulation expected.

Winds accompanying the front will intensify the chill, creating dangerous conditions for those spending extended periods outdoors. Officials recommend layering clothing and limiting outdoor exposure to prevent frostbite or hypothermia.

Early Wednesday commuters should prepare for icy patches on untreated roads as temperatures remain well below freezing. Visibility could also reduce briefly in areas where snow showers are more concentrated.

Relief from the cold is on the horizon as a warming trend begins Thursday. Daytime temperatures will gradually rise later in the week, offering Kentuckians a respite from the bitter cold.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from local weather agencies and stay prepared for sudden changes in conditions. Motorists should use caution while driving and keep emergency supplies handy.
