Wichita, Kan. – A stretch of sunny, mild weather is setting up across Kansas this weekend, with highs hovering around 70 degrees through Monday and only a brief chance of early showers Saturday morning in the southeast.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, a few lingering showers will clear from the southeast corner of the state by mid-morning Saturday. From there, partly cloudy skies will dominate with afternoon highs ranging from 67°F to 71°F across central and eastern Kansas. Sunshine and light winds are expected to continue through Sunday and into Monday, with highs edging slightly higher—reaching up to 73°F in cities like Emporia and Chanute.

Major roads like I-35 and US-400 will stay dry, and no hazardous travel is anticipated. Residents in Wichita, Salina, and Topeka can expect calm conditions ideal for outdoor activities. Those in Coffeyville and Winfield may still see damp roads early Saturday, but clearing will be swift.

No watches or warnings are currently in effect, and this marks one of the most stable spring weekends for the region so far.

More sun and above-average temperatures are expected into early next week, with the next potential weather shift arriving midweek.
