Wichita, KS – Dense fog is causing hazardous driving conditions across central Kansas this morning, particularly near I-70. Visibility in some areas may drop to less than half a mile, increasing the risk of sudden changes while on the road. Drivers are urged to reduce speed and leave extra distance between vehicles.
According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, the fog is expected to persist through 8 a.m. before dissipating as temperatures rise. The rest of Sunday is forecast to be sunny, with highs reaching 65°F and south winds at 9 to 15 mph.
Looking ahead, Monday brings a shift in weather conditions. Breezy winds of up to 22 mph will accompany sunny skies, with temperatures peaking at 45°F. Nights throughout the week are forecast to be colder, with Monday night’s low dipping to 27°F as winds shift to the north.
By midweek, expect mostly cloudy skies with daytime highs near 50°F and lows around 29°F. Thanksgiving Day will be sunny but chilly, with highs reaching just 42°F. For those planning holiday travel, the clear skies should ease road conditions, though cooler temperatures may require extra precautions.
Drivers are reminded to stay cautious during foggy mornings and prepare for colder nights by ensuring vehicles are equipped for frost and icy roads later in the week.
