Wichita, KS – Drivers in south-central Kansas should prepare for reduced visibility and icy patches on roads early Monday morning. Forecasters are warning that freezing fog will persist until mid-morning, particularly near Wichita and along major highways such as I-135 and U.S. Route 54.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita, temperatures will hover near freezing tonight, dipping as low as 26 degrees. Patchy fog will make travel conditions hazardous through early Monday, with sunny skies and daytime highs around 38 degrees providing some relief by the afternoon. Residents are urged to allow extra time for commutes and to use caution when walking on sidewalks, as surfaces may be slick.

Looking ahead, Monday night will remain clear but cold, with temperatures dropping again to the mid-20s. Tuesday and Wednesday will bring sunny skies and warming trends, with highs reaching 45 and 56 degrees, respectively. However, overnight lows will continue to dip into the 30s, requiring residents to bundle up.

No hazardous weather is expected later this week, but Kansans are advised to stay alert for changing conditions, particularly in rural areas where fog is likely to redevelop. Keep updated with local forecasts and prepare for cold mornings throughout the week.
