Wichita, KS – A cold front sweeping through Kansas will bring freezing temperatures tonight, with lows dropping into the teens and 20s across the Wichita area. Residents are urged to bundle up and take precautions as wind chills dip into single digits in some locations.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will hover around 36°F during the day but drop sharply tonight as skies clear. Monday will bring sunny skies and a slightly warmer high of 47°F, with light southwest winds making conditions more comfortable for outdoor activities.

Looking ahead, the forecast shows sunny weather through midweek, with highs reaching the low 50s by Wednesday. However, a chance of rain moves in late Wednesday night and lingers through Friday, impacting travel and outdoor plans. Drivers should monitor road conditions, especially during early morning hours, as overnight freezes could create slick patches on highways such as I-135 and U.S. 54.

Plan ahead for the week and prepare for fluctuating temperatures. Keep extra layers and supplies in your vehicle to stay safe during Kansas’ unpredictable winter weather.
