Wichita, Kansas – Scattered thunderstorms could rumble through Wichita by 4 p.m. Sunday, bringing dime-sized hail and gusts up to 65 mph.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, severe weather is likely across Central and South Central Kansas this afternoon and evening, mainly along and north of Highway 50. Storms may produce localized flooding, damaging winds, and brief bursts of heavy rainfall. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and avoid travel during peak storm hours.

Storms remain a concern through the rest of the week. The NWS notes that “off-and-on chances for showers and thunderstorms will persist from Sunday through Friday,” with several days bringing a marginal risk of severe weather. Conditions will be warm and humid, with daytime highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
