Dodge City, KS – A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for southwest Kansas through Wednesday morning, creating hazardous travel conditions on major roadways, including US-50. Visibility is reduced to a quarter-mile or less in many areas, with freezing fog causing slick spots, especially on bridges and overpasses.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the advisory is active until 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Drivers should use headlights, reduce speeds, and allow extra travel time during early morning hours. Southbound winds of 7 mph and temperatures near freezing are contributing to frost accumulation.

Looking ahead, Christmas Day will remain cloudy with highs reaching 47°F, but patchy dense fog could linger into the early morning. By Thursday, a warming trend will bring clearer skies and a high of 51°F, though rain is likely in the late evening.

The weekend forecast offers relief, with sunny skies and highs near 56°F by Saturday. Travelers are urged to remain cautious through the holiday and plan accordingly for shifting weather conditions.
