Kankakee, IL – Two pizza delivery drivers were robbed within two hours of each other Saturday night on East Willow Street, and early Monday, gunfire struck a nearby home — prompting a public plea from Kankakee Police for surveillance footage.

According to Kankakee Police, the first robbery happened around 7:53 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of East Willow. A masked man dressed in black confronted a delivery driver, implied he had a gun, and stole the driver’s wallet. At 9:38 p.m., another driver was robbed in the same area by a suspect with a machete matching the same description.

No injuries were reported in either case, but police say both drivers were clearly targeted while on duty.

Less than 48 hours later, at approximately 1:40 a.m. Monday, officers responded to gunfire in the 700 block of South Wall Street. A home had been struck multiple times. While no one was hurt, officers recovered shell casings outside and a bullet from inside the house. Witnesses saw two people dressed in black fleeing through a nearby alley.

Investigators are asking residents with doorbell or security cameras near South Wall or East Willow to check footage from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 to 2 a.m. Monday. Video can be submitted to K3detectives@gmail.com or through Ring.

Police are urging anyone who saw suspicious activity to contact them at (815) 933-0426 or leave an anonymous tip with Kankakee County Crime Stoppers at (815) 932-7463.
